Bavarian Inn Lodge is entering the final phase of their 170,000 sq. ft. expansion of Bavarian Blast: MI’s biggest indoor waterpark and family fun center, planned for completion by Christmas. Contractors from R.C. Hendrick & Son, Inc. have been hard at work for nearly two years, building over three football fields worth of waterpark fun that will include 16 waterslides, a wave pool, a lazy river, MI’s first indoor swim up bar, and so much more! In addition to the waterpark, more family entertainment space is also being built that will feature three climbing walls, a three-story ropes course with a sky-line, mini bowling, laser tag and more gaming opportunities.

At this roof raising event, an Evergreen Tree was hoisted up and mounted atop of the open aire roof structure. The hoisting and mounting of an evergreen tree is a Frankenmuth tradition brought over by the early settlers in 1845 from Bavaria, Germany. The mounting of the tree is a symbol to alert the owners that the structure is enclosed and it is time to celebrate with a luncheon for all the workers.

Work crews are currently onsite with daily activity taking place in preparation for the debut. While construction has been taking place, the 2 current waterslides, 4 pools (one adult only pool), 3 whirlpools, and existing fun center have remained open at the seven-acre, multi-faceted resort as it continues to host guests, providing the highest customer satisfaction standards in the industry.

Swimming, 180+ video and redemption games, 18-hole indoor miniature golf, laser tag, ice cream and candy shop, and Ratskeller Restaurant are unaffected during the remodeling.
Since its opening in 1986, the Bavarian Inn Lodge has undergone six phases, expanding the number of lodging rooms to 360, additional family entertainment offerings and adding a full service conference center.
