We were hankering for another fun event to add in the town of Frankenmuth…and as we are known for some of the best food in the state, we figured, let’s bring an event that involves food from all around the state! And so was born the Frankenmuth Funtown Chowdown Food Truck Festival.
The festival launched back in 2017 with one event and ten food trucks. This event was so popular that we ended up having it the following year with five food truck events (May-September), with around twenty trucks at each one!
Fast forward to this year and the festival continues to grow as we have added special activities and entertainment to make each month even more unique.
We love food trucks so much that we decided to get a few of our own!
The Cheese Trap, featuring food from the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus offers gourmet grilled cheese, cheese curds, and all the cheesy goodness.
Our Bavarian Inn Cluck Truck features food from the Bavarian Inn Restaurant, which highlights brats, pretzels, Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Chicken, and other homemade Bavarian items.
This year in particular, we have had a diverse lineup of food trucks from all around Michigan. Most events have anywhere from 25-30 food trucks- it is truly a festival!
Our remaining 2022 dates are July 14, August 11, and September 8.
The Food Truck Festivals are from 2 to 9 PM at Frankenmuth River Place Shops, 925 S. Main St. in Michigan’s Little Bavaria (Frankenmuth, MI).
And the best part is…Festival admission and parking are free!
