FACILITIES & MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS MANAGER

FULL TIME + BENEFITS | WAGE BASED ON SKILLSET & EXPERIENCE, STARTING AT 50K SALARY | 45 HOUR WORK WEEK, SHIFT EXAMPLES: 7am-3pm or 11am-7pm

Ring in the new year with a new career! Bavarian Inn Restaurant is looking for a facilities & maintenance manager to keep our building in tip-top shape. We do all repairs in house from changing light bulbs, repairing a gear in the dish machine, and even plumbing and heating. Our maintenance manager works side-by-side with department team members on repairs, replacement, and preventive maintenance of the restaurant facilities, systems, equipment and machinery. Must have a basic working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, plumbing, and electric as well as having welding experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining the facilities at the Bavarian Restaurant and Shops (both interior and exterior) by directing and overseeing the work of the maintenance and facilities departments. Reports to Maintenance Project Manager/Chief Engineer. Prior leadership experience required plus type II refrigerant certification preferred.

WORK PERFORMED:
  1. Responsible for the management and coordination of all activities required to maintain all systems and related equipment including commercial kitchen equipment, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, etc. and ensures each are operational at all times.
  2. Responsible for managing company “maintenance work requests” and communication system regarding priorities and status of those requests.
  3. Plans and coordinates training, hiring and the development of Team Members within the department including training and performance reviews, team member development, recognition and disciplinary actions, and conducting regular department meetings.
  4. Schedules department team members to have adequate Maintenance and Grounds coverage including coordinating and monitoring after hours support schedule.
  5. Schedules and oversees the Building Preventive Maintenance Program.
  6. Oversees the operation and maintenance of the company fleet of vehicles.
  7. Works with the Chief Engineer to control department costs.
  8. Purchases designated equipment and supplies or fabricates needed materials required for maintenance, cleaning, and equipment upon approval through the purchase order system.
  9. Responsible to maintain a file for records, operating manuals and warranties on equipment and assures that necessary and/or component parts are ordered by warranties when possible, ensures that this information is logged on a Preventative Maintenance Program.
  10. Maintains complete knowledge of the Bavarian Inn Restaurant emergency procedures including action to be taken for power and supply systems breakdown and evacuation due to fire.
  11. Responsible for developing successful methods for the creation, monitoring and completion of department, personal and corporate goals.
  12. Responsible for scheduling internal team members and external contractors to handle snow and ice removal and assures the proper number of team members are scheduled. Orders snow removal supplies and equipment as needed.
  13. In conjunction with the General Manager and the BIR Chief Engineer, assists with bids, negotiations and execution of all service contracts regarding maintenance, landscaping and snow removal.
  14. Oversees the set-up, tear down, and monitoring of grounds and facilities before, during and after seasonal events and festivals. (Fischer Platz, Snowfest, Bavarian Fest, Auto Fest, etc.).
  15. Works with the Hospitality Manager and Decorators in coordinating the seasonal decorations in BIR and external facilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate degree or equivalent in maintenance management and the skilled trades and systems involved in maintenance. Valid state driver’s license required. Ability to drive company vehicles and be insured. Minimum three years work experience in a related position.

Moderate from Chief Engineer & General Manager

EXTENT OF SUPERVISION GIVEN:

Close to Maintenance, Facilities, & Grounds Team

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS:

Typical shifts are either 7am-4pm, or 11am-8pm. Works a minimum of half the weekend & Holiday shifts.
