Wow, this is a story that comes from one of our Group Sales Consultant. This wedding was meant to be from first sight. This one gave me goose bumps as I was also engaged at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Please continue reading this wonderful Love Story.
As a Wedding Consultant I meet many couples. As I help them plan their wedding and we get to know each other, I find out about their families and friends but the most interesting information is how they met and most of all how the proposal happened.
One sweet couple stands out in my mind; they came in looking for a ceremony & reception site. From the first moment I met them they seemed to be so much in love and very excited about having their wedding here at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. You see they met here at a wedding three years ago. She was in the wedding party and he was a guest. As the tradition goes the groom removes the garter from the bride’s leg and tosses it to all the single men, and the bride tosses her bouquet to all the single ladies. Well these two were the lucky two that caught the items, and as you know to follow tradition the man then puts the garter on the women who catches the bouquet. As he was sliding the garter on to her leg he looked at her with a smile and said “in a few years we will be the ones getting married”, to which she replied, “well I guess we better go on a date first”. You guessed it, they have been together ever since and wanted to start their new life together were they met, right here at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. And she couldn’t have put it any better when she said, “he proposed the first day they met”!
